Camp Jack Awarded Grant to Support Purchase of Family Portal Software

Matouk Company Fund grants $2,400 to streamline Camp Jack’s registration and records systems

Fall River (November 25, 2024) – People Incorporated and its affiliate organization, The Diabetes Association, Inc., announce the receipt of a grant award for $2,400 from the Matouk Company Fund of the SouthCoast Community Foundation. The funds will support the purchase of an updated registration and medical records software for its popular Jack Rua Camp for Children with Diabetes. Also, known as “Camp Jack,” the program offers a comprehensive summer camp experience for children with Type 1 diabetes, ages 5 through 14, along with their siblings and friends.

The software will allow for a more modernized and smooth registration process for families, along with an efficient interface for uploading and storing important medical information. Megan Stirk, President & CEO of People Incorporated, noted the importance of this software. “As Camp Jack becomes more prominent as a full-scale medically supported diabetes camp in our region, it is critical that we have the most up-to-date systems in place to ensure families can register with ease and know that their child’s information is stored securely. Now our trained staff can access medical information and respond more confidently to each camper’s needs. I want to thank the Matouk Company Fund and the SouthCoast Community Foundation for their amazing support in helping to fund this necessity.”

Camp Jack operates at the site of Camp Welch in Assonet, Massachusetts and runs for six weeks in July and August. As a day camp, its hours are 8 a.m. through 4 p.m. More information can be found at https://peopleincfr.org/services/diabetes-association-inc/camp-jack/
