This position enriches early childhood education and care for children aged newborn to 5 years old in our programs. Our focus is on preparing children for lifelong learning, encompassing their social, emotional, and cognitive needs.
About the Program:
- Teacher Apprentices begin at a pay rate of $18.82.
- Employees must register for the first available course required: Early Childhood Growth and Development class.
- Compensation for some classroom time. (depending on the structure of the program you are enrolled in)
- To fulfill the program requirements, candidates must complete 9 months of hands-on experience (prior experience is considered) and successfully pass the Early Childhood Growth and Development course.
- Upon completion, the employee will be registered in the EEC system and qualify as a certified teacher, with a pay increase to $19.44 per hour.
- A $500 stipend is awarded after completing one year of employment with such certification.
- Additional tuition assistance funds and scholarships are available through our tuition assistance policy for additional education and professional development.
- EEC Pathways offers free college classes to matriculate to an associates if you choose to.
- Paid books and loaner technology are available
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Nine months of work experience in an early education setting, preferred but not required.
- All candidates must have a qualifying criminal background check.
- Driver’s license preferred, but not required.
- Skill in interacting appropriately with children, clients and colleagues.
