In Memory of Joan Crowther
Joan (Marcille) Crowther of Little Compton passed on peacefully on Friday, February 19, 2021, at Silver Creek Manor. She was the wife of the late Donald Crowther; they shared 60 years of marriage.
Mrs. Crowther was born in Fall River, daughter of the late John and Blanche (Durand) Marcille, and had resided in Little Compton for most of her life. Prior to her retirement, she owned/operated the Commons Lunch followed by Crowther's Restaurant, both in Little Compton. She loved traveling to Aruba, cruises to the Caribbean, and she especially enjoyed her 50th anniversary trip to Hawaii with her husband. She was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church, Little Compton. Mrs. Crowther liked rug braiding, sewing, and quilting blankets for donations. In Memory of Michaelene Banville
Michaelene Banville was a graduate of Saint Anne's School of Nursing. She served her community as a Registered Nurse for over fifty years. Later in life, she pursued higher education, receiving her bachelor's in Elementary Education. Beginning as a hospital nurse, she later took her skillset and passion for working with children to People Incorporated's Early Intervention and Healthy Families programs in Fall River. There, all her education and experience was put to use, providing developmental and therapeutic assistance to help children thrive.
After moving to Orlando, Florida, where she worked as a park nurse for Disney World, she returned to New England and secured a position as a nurse in the Somerset school system, rotating between the middle school and high school. Upon retiring from full-time work, she went back to working part-time with Early Intervention, continuing to work with children there until February of 2020. As a longtime dedicated and valued employee of People Incorporated, we mourn her passing alongside Michaelene's family and friends.
