Celebrating 50 Years of Service

On October 2, 2018, we celebrated the 50th anniversary of People Incorporated at Whites of Westport.

The room was filled with over 600 attendees who came out to show their support for the Agency and to help us embrace our past and look towards the future. The night began with a speech from President & CEO Megan Scheffer, who spoke about the history of the agency and the importance of the services we provide. She was followed by a video message of congratulations from Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito.  Chairman David Bedard passed along greetings from the People Incorporated Board of Directors and gave personal testimony of how People Incorporated has touched his family.

Rep. Alan Silvia, Rep. Paul Schmid, and Sen. Michael Rodrigues spoke about our legacy of service to the community. All of the speakers commented on the positive impact of People Incorporated on the individuals and families we serve. The presentation ended with the launch of the new agency video, which highlighted our talented, committed employees who spoke from the heart about what it means to be a part of People Incorporated.

Afterward, everyone enjoyed a night of food and dancing, and each attendee left with a commemorative gift and a copy of the annual report. This year’s report is special because it contains the rich history of the agency and stories from our staff and our individuals. The report is a wonderful representation of our agency because we are more than just a provider of services; we are defined by our place in the community, the dedication of our employees, and our commitment to assisting individuals in reaching their goals.
