The primary focus of the Early Childhood Support Specialist is to create a nurturing environment that advances social-emotional and behavioral health outcomes among children, families and early childhood professionals. This position works in and out of the classroom setting to promote wellness in young children by increasing the capacity of adult caregivers to support children’s developmental needs. The ECSS seeks to increase child and caregiver resilience while reducing challenging behaviors by utilizing trauma-informed evidence based practices through a range of services, including consultation in classrooms, training and coaching staff, individual work with students, screening and referral services, and parent education. Clinical supervision will be provided by our LICSW.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct evaluations and observations of identified students.
- Collaborate with preschool teachers and provide support to children and families to identify route cause behaviors.
- Evaluate classroom environment and redesigning classroom space if needed.
- Serve as a mentor and model effective interaction for staff.
- Provide referrals to community resources for parents and children.
- Determine services in collaboration with families using Individualized Family Service Plans.
- Perform screenings, assessments and educational group activities in the natural environment while adhering to all Department of Early Education and Care regulations.
- Maintain expertise through attending meetings, in-services, continuing education or relevant workshops.
- Collect data sheets from program, graph and analyze data.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or Child Psychology or a related field is required. LCSW preferred.
- EEC Certification is required or eligibility to obtain certification.
- Excellent Communication skills and the ability to work in a team oriented setting.

People, Incorporated is seeking a Clinical Supports Specialist with demonstrated accomplishments to serve children and families at the People, Incorporated Preschool.
Employee is responsible for oversight and direction of clinical supports to children and families attending the People Incorporated Preschool. This individual will develop and monitor Behavior Support plans for children attending the People Incorporated Preschool. In addition, candidate will be responsible for connecting children and families to clinical supports within the area should additional services be needed. Candidates must have experience in designing behavior plans for children and in supporting families, as well as knowledge of clinical supports in the Fall River area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manage and oversee clinical services related to Early Education programs.
- Develop and monitor implementation of Behavior Support plans for identified children in collaboration with administrators and teachers.
- Create any and all materials associated with Behavior Support plans.
- Direct and assure implementation of Agency policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with area professionals and resources, ensuring that identified children and parents receive referral information as needed.
- Submit all appropriate reports and statistical data as required.
- Participate in clinical supervision provided by an LICSW.
- Observe clients and staff in their natural environments.
- Perform functional behavioral assessments.
- Collect data, graph, and assist with data analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor Degree in Social Work or Child Psychology as well as experience designing and implementing behavior support plans.

- Three years’ experience monitoring PBS plans and working with children and families.
- Must participate in supervision provided by an LICSW.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.

People, Incorporated is seeking a Maternal Child Health Nurse for the Welcome Family Fall River Program. This position will provide home-based services to participants.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Work collaboratively as member of small team in providing services to families who have recently given birth.
- Collaborate with referral sources and Charlton Memorial Hospital in maintaining strong partnering relationships.
- Visit families at Charlton Memorial Hospital, presenting this universal program and scheduling visits.
- Conduct up to 90-minute visit at the family’s home or a mutually agreed upon location.
- Assess the family needs and strengths related to overall health and well-being.
- Conduct screenings related to the six core areas: clinical assessment, unmet health needs, maternal and infant nutrition, substance use, emotional health, and domestic violence.
- Engage, assess and present information in an unbiased, culturally humble and appropriate manner, particularly related to sensitive topics.
- Provide screening, brief intervention, and education to all families, regardless of perceived risk or need.
- Address the caregiver’s individual questions or concerns.
- Collect data using the Welcome Family forms, complete documentation and billing with accuracy and according to MA Department of Public Health (DPH) standards in alignment with program policies.
- Offer referrals to services for caregivers with an identified need, including MA MIECHV-funded home visiting programs and other community resources that may best suit the needs of the family.
- Participate in an annual site visit with DPH.
- Complete Agency program and state required training.
- Demonstrate proficiency through experience, education, or training to meet MA Department of Public Health Nurse Competencies.
QUALIFICATION
- Current licensure as an RN by the Massachusetts Board of Registration, Division of Professional Licensure, with either:
- a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from an accredited program and at least three (3) years of clinical experience in prenatal, newborn, infancy or maternal services; or
- a Master of Science degree in Nursing with Maternal and Child Health, Family Health, Community Health, or related specialty and two (2) years of clinical experience in prenatal, newborn, infancy or maternal services.
- Proficiency in Spanish required.
- Demonstrate ability to service families with unbiased, non-judgment, cultural awareness, respect and humility.
- Experience with community-based/public health nursing.
- Experience of childbirth, women’s health, newborn care and development, and maternal health.
- Ability to recognize the spectrum of postpartum mood disorders through assessment and observation.
- Demonstrate sensitivity, knowledge and skill for screening and discussion of interpersonal violence, substance use, postpartum depression and anxiety.
- Identify risk factors for child abuse and neglect, and knowledge of mandatory reporting laws.
- Knowledge of community resources to support individuals and families.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skill in family engagement.
- Knowledge of reflective practice, motivational interviewing, and trauma informed care.

The Greater Fall River Healthy Families program seeks a Family Support Worker to provide a wide range of activities and services to first time parents both pregnant and parenting, and their infant to promote healthy birth outcomes; achieve optimal health, growth and development in infancy and early childhood; support positive, effective parenting skills and nurturing home environments; prevent child abuse and neglect as well as promote maximum parent education and economic self-sufficiency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain case load within parameters established by the Children’s Trust.
- Schedule and provide home visits and supportive services with cultural humility to eligible mothers and fathers based on respective service levels.
- Develop relationships with participants understanding, respecting and celebrating the diversity of practices, thoughts, and norms of each family member and staff.
- Support families in developing goal plans that identify family strengths, needs, interests, desired services, goals and objectives, and plans for resolution.
- Identify with the family strengths that promote a smooth, barrier-free service delivery model.

- Demonstrate the ability to service families during non-standard business hours to meet the needs of families.

- Refer and/or link families to medical providers, food or housing assistance programs, child care, job training programs, family support centers or various community agencies as indicated.

- Complete documentation and enter all related information into participant data base account to program specifications.
- Facilitate or participate in development and implementation of parent/child, mother’s and /or father’s groups as assigned.
- Actively participate in state-wide and program training, in-services, program meetings, and supervision.
